Sunday was the first day when Manza was available for a test drive in Gurgaon and I happened to be one of the first to drive one.

The car is very comfortable, the driving position is good, the electronic controls for AC, music system and other stuff take a bit of getting used to and is very elaborate. Rear passenger gets ample space to stretch his legs and the DIS seems like a good feature to begin with couldnt quite get through me.

Once put in gear, Manza has great control and the road grip was good as well. Uneven roads couldnt even grab my attention as even the sound wasnt something you would pay attention to. The gear shifts are smooth as well and the steering and gear position are very intuitive. Only drawback of this car was the car wasnt tuned to respond as soon as u hit the gas.. it has to go beyond 2 on the RPM meter to actually feel the pickup. Perhaps tuned for good mileage.. overall should be a good competition for Dzire given the Maruti car also lacks a bit on interiors and small tyres

    Hello Anurag,
Thanks for sharing the information. which model you drove? Petrol or Diesel? Yesterday, i also had a TD of Diesel version. Comfort wise its too good even i found it best option for the value of money. I found some problem in pickup. It was not as good as in my petrol car. May be because currently i am driving petrol veichle. The gear box does not seems to be smoth. I am waiting for the petrol verson TD also. If you get any more information for petrol version then please share i

I drove a top of the line Diesel. The pickup lag is not due to Diesel.. its because of the tuning for better mileage I think

    Hello Anurag,
I have heard quiet some good reviews (and a few bad ones) on Manza. But on the whole, I feel this is the common man's Sedan :D. Features like Steering mounted audio controls, temp indicator, and a powerful diesel engine are available only in high end Sedans in India (Honda, SX4, DZire to name a few). Tata has really shown they can understand the need of the common man now.

@Ashwin - I am also in the same fix.. Manza Vs DZire.. I am going for Manza though.. if you are buying a sedan.. it should be spacious and DZire isnt.

However. Aveo doesnt have the smooth gear shifts and driving comfort that I found in Manza.. mileage a big -ve as well
