Hi all to clear your all doubts, I like to share my experience of FIAT GRANDE PUNTO of last few months. I drove this car (DIESEL, Active) 5600KM till date had couple of KERALA trip from bangalore and lots and lots of week end short trips.
Before buying this car I was concerned about quality, Service, milage, resale etc. The top of these wes the service as lot of people says about Fiat service are bad etc etc..
I kept my choice open for Swift DDIS, Ritz DDIS, FORD IKON TDCI, SKODA FABIA, I20 CRDI.
Now selection:
Swift -- No No coz every xyz drives that car now, and I don't want spend my money behind 4 years old craze model. Old 3rd Generation Diesel engine.
Ritz -- Plus point same FIAT GP 4 th generation Diesel engine, negetive point too ugly to choose, till date no one said it looks good at first instance.
IKON -- 10 years old chasis and interrior, not really a head turner anymore, though engine is good.
Fabia -- Old generation TDI diesel engine, Brand name only sales.
Thus choice left I20 CRDI and FIAT Grande punto..
I20 little bit over priced for a small car and By that time heard that TATA has taken over the FIAT service.
Still took a test drive for both... man FIAT win my heart straight way by it's look and handling... And more over I was saving a good 1 Lac over 1 20 diesel.
Now I am a proud owner of Fiat Grande punto.... Honest feedback TATA/FIAT service is great, this time FIAT want's to romove bad remark about service, but in other way of pain... every time someone or other from FIAT calls you and ask " how's you car, if anything required" etc etc... Trust me sometime it feels good that company cares for the customers. And if you take the punto to any TATA/Fiat service station you receives a grand honour + customer service from the service center personal.
Service interval.... hehe I laugh over the friends who gone for Conventional MARUTI.. hehe they goes for every 3-6 months for 1st,2nd service.. .. etc.... This car has serive interval of 15000 KM.. you can imagine the confidence FIAT has this time in their car.
More over as Maruti is using FIAT's engine in their Swift and Ritz why not go from OEM(FIAT) itself for their most advanced diesel 4th generation engine.
Never the less the head turning factor is what I still enjoy a lot... Last month I was in Germany found lot n lot of same Grande punto running on their free way... If give me a good feeling the same car I have back in Bangalore..
Last word..I am happy...with my choice...
One point do NOT go for what people says about FIAT service any more... either they are giving you a old data...before TATA took over the service or they are passing just someones comment..Ask any FIAT GP owner for latest feedback.
The first day itself I received a only service adress book from TATA fiat joint service stations across county. Thus no question about service anymore....
